SSC PYQ bank coverage

SSC CGL Tier 1 (2018-2025), CGL Tier 2 Paper 1 + 2 (2018-2025), CHSL Tier 1 (2018-2025), and MTS (2020-2025). Each exam has its own filter, so you can focus specifically on the exam you are targeting.

Questions are organized by the exam pattern: General Intelligence, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension for CGL/CHSL. Each has topic-level sub-tagging — for example, Quantitative Aptitude breaks into Percentages, Profit & Loss, Time & Work, Geometry, etc.

Shortcut techniques per question

SSC is a speed exam. Every PYQ solution includes both the standard method and the fastest shortcut. For percentages, we show Vedic math approaches. For reasoning, we show option-elimination tricks. For English synonyms, we show word-root decomposition. Solving PYQs alone is not enough — solving them fast is the skill.

After 50-100 solved PYQs per section, you will internalize most of the common shortcuts. Our shortcut index (browseable under the Shortcut Engine feature) cross-references which tricks apply to which question patterns.

  • CGL Tier 1: 8 years of 100-Q papers (800 PYQs)
  • CGL Tier 2: 8 years of Paper 1 (Quant) + Paper 2 (English)
  • CHSL Tier 1: 8 years of 100-Q papers
  • MTS: 5 years of full papers
  • Per-question shortcut and standard method both shown
  • Topic-level filter within each section

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the SSC GK section current?

The General Awareness section is a mix: static GK (history, geography, polity) stays relevant indefinitely; current affairs PYQs older than 2 years are marked "context-stale". For current GA preparation, supplement PYQs with a current-affairs tracker.

Do the solutions show Vedic math techniques?

Yes where applicable. Vedic math shortcuts are shown for multiplication, squaring, percentage calculation, and specific multiplication patterns. Not every question benefits from Vedic methods — our solutions use whatever is fastest, which is sometimes just a straightforward approach.

How is SSC CHSL different from CGL?

Same 100-question 60-minute structure and same 4 sections. Difference is difficulty: CHSL Quant is generally easier than CGL Quant (simpler arithmetic-heavy questions vs CGL's mixed arithmetic-algebra-geometry). CHSL English is also slightly easier. Use CHSL PYQs if you are targeting CHSL; use CGL PYQs for the more ambitious bar.

Can I attempt year-wise full SSC papers?

Yes. In Mock Test mode, select "Year-wise PYQ" and pick a past SSC CGL Tier 1 paper. It is served in original question order with the original 60-minute timer. Scoring is done with the original marking scheme (+2/-0.5).

What is the recommended SSC PYQ practice volume?

For SSC CGL Tier 1: solve the last 5 years of full papers as timed mocks (5 × 100 = 500 questions in timed mode), then solve 500 topic-specific questions untimed for deep understanding. Total around 1,000 PYQs over 3-4 months of preparation.
